Ocean 6 in Chicago area - buy Alpo instead. You'll enjoy it better.

I usually say "take a hike buddy" to these meat trucks. My wife inherited money so we thought what the hey, we'll buy some. This stuff is pure garbage. DO NOT BUY OCEAN 6 MEAT! The fish was tolerable at best. Horrible value. The meat is extremely fatty and tastes terrible. Tried a couple steaks - threw the rest out. Doesn't even cook up looking like beef. The slick salesman sold us boxes of what looks and tastes like horse meat. Yuck! The guy was super smooth - if he can sleep at night selling this ***, more power to him. Save your money!

Terrible Quality

I purchased a package of steaks, fish, and shrimp in early April 2016 in North Fort Myers for $306. The brochure lists Tommy for customer service 877-280-****. I have not tried the fish yet. The shrimp was excellent, but the steaks were TERRIBLE! The steaks were difficult to cult because of cartilage and even more difficult to eat. I ended up throwing several of them away. I will NEVER buy from a mobile vendor again and think a refund is appropriate. I have been unable to reach the person who sold me the food on the telephone. There is no answer or answering service.

Bought steaks, fish, and chicken on one of their " special deals " that has turned out to be a big rip off. We never did received all of the fish we were promised, and we called multiple times with always the same bad promises. The steaks on the grill were so full of fat and marbled that they could not be chewed. We tried all of the different cuts, and all were the same tough uneatable experience. We did cook some steaks in the crock pot, but what a waste of a steak. The crab cakes were pretty good, but the shrimp was nothing to brag about. This is a rip and a waste of money.

Rude solicitor

The solicitor banged on my door and woke up my child. When I asked for his state license to solicit in my community he became passive aggressive and rude. He could not produce a license and started taunting me for asking. Very suspicious and rude behavior. The young man did not have on a uniform or a name badge and a young lady jumped out of the car to confront me as well. She did not have on a uniform or any nametag and they were both dressed unprofessionally. Who sells seafood door to door and who challenges a homeowner on thier own front porch? I was very upset not to mention it disturbed my day and my child's nap.

One of many unhappy customers

Of all days to have a bad meal....it was on Mother's Day. My mother had been waiting all week to try our steaks we purchased from Oceans 6 with the claim "best steaks you'll ever taste!" We took out 4 Delmonico steaks and 2 peppercorn fillets. What a disappointment!! I have never had a worst steak in my life!! This was agreed by all who tried the steaks! Luckily we had grilled some chicken to salvage our Mother's Day dinner. The rep that came to my house with guarantees for the best meat and showcasing every piece is unreachable. Even the 877-280-**** doesn't seem to work. I spent $297 and would like a refund and to return the remaining meat to the company.

Ocean 6 has seemed to shut down websites and everything I will find them how dare you rip off people who work hard for their money to provide for their families you give all the other door to door people a bad rep they don't deserve it want my money back the meat was the nastiest meat I have ever tasted

Guy pulled up to my door and tried to sell me a large package of meat. I had just gone to the store so didnt need anything. I figured he was out working labor day weekend and I would help him out. I told him I was willing to buy $50 of product. Really because he said he was local in Summerville and i was trying to help local business etc..he told me he had already sold to my neighbors etc..my son opened one of the packages and I noticed it expired in june. It is September! I then looked at the chicken and it expired in February. The pork loin didnt have an expiration date. I have called the local number and the reps name is Steve. When I called it rang to a fax. I am now calling the direct corp. office. Hopefully they will refund my $$. I have never bought from a food truck and never will again. Had to share...would have been very upset if my grandchild or son actuallyate this. Look ay the bad reviews on illness..so much for me trying to do a good deed. I spent an hour ir so going to my neighbors house to see if they bought anything and they didnt. So i realized he had lied to me as well.

Wow incredible experience had no idea that they were expired I've been doing this for 10 years and never not once has my name been on this site til now... Especially over a 50$ sale that was an accident...all u had to do was call the number in the brochure and we would of been fixed the situation but instead u want to put my name on here and make me look like a bad person over a accident ...I'm n total shock b awe...I left u the brochure and my cell number but instead of fixing it u would rather go on here and make a little thing in2 something more than it is....if u want the problem resolved please give me a call on the number I left for you...sorry u had a bad experience and I wish this couldbof been handled in a more mature and grown up way but hey gossip is the thing now....have a great day and thanks......

Buy 4 case of meat was promise a freezer, first driver came payed him $220 3 days later the other driver came payed him $250, told me he was going to pick up my meat and would be back by 3:30pm. They Never did show up and call company and they just pass my from one dealer to the next. now have turned them over to BBB and see what happens...Very Nice Painted Vans, but can not say that much for the people that work for them, if they do not even no who the drivers and after l even gave them his phone number...

These are mostly alcoholics and drug addicts that live in hotels or flop houses . (There are a few smart ones that have genuinely made a life selling meat door to door, but mostly scammers) They work for these companies on 100% commission.

The idea is for them to go out and SLAM (as they call it!) as much meat off their trucks as quickly and for as much as they can get, with the incentives of bonuses provided by a branch manager. They actually pay the company they work for around $100 per case. The company buys pallets of these meats from packing houses or brokers for around $50.00 a case. The company charges the drivers credit card fees and truck charges.

They will load up in the morning with around 10 cases , drive out (usually to a small town 50-100 miles from their office) and either knock on doors with stories like , "I deliver to the neighborhood", "I missed a delivery", "So & so couldn't take their order", " My customer died"..Whatever, you get the idea. The meat by the way is represented as being the most tender product available..Their objective is to 'Build the Value'! The meats are packaged pretty, but this is definitely not top of the line! The old meat companies ( I shall not name) actually use to sell 'Utility' meat that was 'needled to death (to break down gristle) and soaked in a solution to 'deteriorate' or 'breakdown' the product to be tender (often turning it to mush).

After nationwide complaints , lawsuits , ect..Many of the 'Outfits' decided to 'Upgrade' (Somewhat!) to Select Grade Beef (next grades would be Choice and then Prime). Select is fine, many grocery stores handle it. The problem with these meat 'Outfits', are the blatant misrepresentation 'tactics' they use. (i.e.

Their excuse for knocking on your door for example..THEY ARE GONNA GIVE YOU A DEAL!!! LOL!) The little round steaks, often wrapped with bacon? Those aren't filet mignon! Carefully spoken , the salesman will say , "Now these are your 'Filets' ".

Technically true, since meat without a bone is a filet. But it is a "SIRLOIN" filet...This is the strongest card in his deck because as he builds value he is going to compare these to Filet Mignons (Often wrapped with bacon!) He/she will often propose the question ( to draw you in). "Ma'am/Sir what would you pay for a good 'Filet' like these in the store in the store? $12-$14 a piece?" ( seeing 8 steaks vacuumed sealed in the box, quickly relates to a value of around $100...JUST FOR THAT BOX!!...HOGWASH.) Their objective is to always relate to portions (cost per piece) ..NOT POUNDS!

Because that big box of meat is eye candy! But actually weighs around 16 lbs...Mostly sirloin and hamburger...all very average grade beef! Meat is sold by the POUND, NOT BY THE PIECE!! If you get it for $80, you'll be alright...But before you can think , they will have you believing it is worth $350 ++.

They will 'CLOSE' you with a beautiful , professional, colored brochure. Showing what they (supposedly) have to turn in to their company today....BUT!! (Wait for it!) If you can 'HELP THEM" 'THEY' (The driver) will give you a DEAL!!

They are quick, cunning and desperate....I know I was one of them...Once, for 15 years...THAT LIFESTYLE....IS NO MAN'S LAND! Don't support it, don't be *** and ....DON"T BE A SUCKER!!

Bad Experience

I had previously purchased meats from Oceans 6 with good results. They had a seafood special, but I had no room in my freezer.

They had a "deal" for freezer and seafood. They left a non-working freezer full of seafood on my concrete outside my garage, promising to bring a new freezer to me the next day. To date, no freezer, ruined food, and their non-working freezer after several requests to remove it still there. They have scammed me out of $350.00 - a check which was written "because they could not charge the credit card the full amount".

Shoulda known something there! Filed complaints with BBB here in Columbia area as well as home office in Florida. no response from them at all.

At least I got my credit card company to deny the charges of $504.00. But still out the $350.00

Wow what a deal! Never thought I would get the service I did ! I been buying from a driver for some time now, he always checks back and sometimes I need food and sometimes I don't. Today driving I seen his van and waved at him , he came buy later that evening , knocked on the door and told me it's my lucky day! Bogo! Buy one get one! I so happen to get the freezer deal offered in the brochure buy any 3 at brochure price receive a free freezer ! Unloaded the freezer right into my garage fresh out of the box plug and go, I love being able to walk right out into the freezer and pull out what ever my family wants for dinner, my daughter wanted steak my husband wanted shrimp, and I wanted pork chops! I love all the OCEAN'S 6 / direct usa products I have gotten for over 16 years! I recommend everyone try the seafood it's so tasteful and the steaks are so tender and flavorful ! I will be a customer for ever!
